Walk 1: Fairlight Head
The path has a hard surface and is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. The round trip is about half a mile and returns on the same route.

- From the Visitor Centre go down the road towards the former coastguard cottages and the rotating radar scanner. Just before the cottages turn right along a hard surfaced path.
- Follow the path for about 100 metres to where there is a picnic table and signpost 23 (the signpost is on the other side of the gate).
- Don't go through the gate but turn left continuing on the hard surfaced path for about 100 metres to another picnic table where the hard surface path ends.
- In the distance, on a clear day, you can see Beachy Head and The South Downs National Park. More information about this spectacular location is given for signpost 24.
- Retrace your path to the Visitor Centre.
- This walk can be extended on rough ground. For this longer route go through the gate at signpost 23 and down the slope following the direction "Warren Glen (Upper)". After this slope the path is mainly level. The path follows Warren Glen inland at high level for 400 metres; it's straight ahead until you reach signpost 20.
- At signpost 20 turn right following the direction "Disused Quarry" and "Visitor Centre".
- Go up the slope, following the path, and enter the quarry. Information about the quarry is given for signpost 20.
- About 100 metres into the quarry you will pass an outcrop of rock to the right of the path and, following the path, in another 100 metres a wall of rock seems to block the path.
- Yellow marker arrows point the way ahead on a narrow path. You turn right at another yellow arrow and then climb the steps cut into the rock. The steps bear to the left and you will meet a crossing footpath.
- Turn left on this path. The quarry will now be below you on the left.
- Follow the path around to arrive back at the Visitor Centre (Approximately 200 metres after leaving the quarry).
